Are dance lessons for me?
Lessons are for everyone who’s moved by the spirit of music. Kids love dance because it gets your body moving in a safe, structured environment that’s fun and enriching. Adults who find other exercise dull and hard to habituate discover that dance offers a perfect solution for improving cardiovascular health, muscle tone, and vitality, and accelerating weight loss.
What are the benefits of dance?
In addition to fitness benefits, dancers who perform in our formal productions, recitals and competition team events express their individual creative energy and identify as a vibrant part of the greater whole. This can play a crucial role building confidence, pride and self-esteem. Individuals of all ages who are dedicated athletes also find that certain dance styles improve sports performance by enhancing balance, flexibility, reflexes, and strength.
How can dance fit in with my other sports and activities?
While regular attendance is important, our goal is to encourage our family of students to explore and learn. If you’re involved in other sports and school or community activities, we’ll work together to make sure you can enjoy all your interests.
Do I need special equipment?
What you’ll need varies depending on your selected classes. You will likely need special footwear and dancewear garments. Our staff can advise on the most affordable, reputable sources. KDC provides everything else, including equipment and experienced, supportive instructors.
How much does it cost to learn dance?
We offer classes for all ages and skill levels as well as private lessons for students who want to perfect their technique or those with special needs. We offer multiple class discounts, and current fees are listed on this site.
